Tomorrow we start our two week long dance camp, and I'm looking for some good family friendly songs that the kids might like. The kids are grouped by age, which range everywhere from 5-14. We tend to do just silly fun things since most of our kids aren't serious dancers. For example, we always use something by the chipmunks for the youngest class. We're thinking of things like Spongebob Squarepants Best Day Ever, or Vogue, or equally fun things.

Any ideas welcome!

Is there someplace that you can get those lights that people have in dormrooms?

I really want to jazz up my room, and thought lights would look cool. Where do you get them? I dont know what I want, so a place with a lot of variety would be very helpful.

Answer
Dorm lighting might be anything...I suggest that you go to the big old Walmart type places and ask someone to help you find exactly what you want to see:

Black lights look like a fluorescent tube only they give off purple light and make everything white or yellow glow. These could be anywhere, including the garden department because I think they help plants grow.

Lava lamps look like a see through bullet. They have water mixed with globby stuff that warms up from the heat of the bulb and oozes around with lighting underneath. These are usually somewhere near the candles, or other lamps. Then there are other novelty lamps like traffic lights, etc, you would find these at places like Spencers.

Clip lamps are for studying, they run on batteries or electricity, and you can put them anywhere with the clothespin type feature. Just a regular functional light that you may see in a dorm, sometimes they have a gooseneck where you can adjust them to shine anywhere. They have lots of these at office supply stores.

Booklights are like little tiny study lamps, they fit on the spine of a book and shine right on the page. These are usually at the counter of the big bookstores.

Strobe lights have a regular bulb inside but the globe that covers it moves. It is usually black and has transparent shapes in it so that the light flickers on the ceiling. I got one of these for Christmas when I was a kid and it made me motion sick to watch it.

Disco ball isn't a light, it is a spinning sphere of tiny mirrors that catch other lights and make it twinkle.

Fiber optic lights are my personal fav. These are usually part of a statue or figurine, you see a lot of butterflies. The light actually shines on long thin plasticky looking bristles that fan out and prism.

There are accent lamps that shine colors sometimes these look like transparent beads melted/attached to a specially shaped lampshade. I have seen these in cartoon characters like spongebob, as well as dolphins, flowers, and cars. These are pretty theme-ish. You might find them in a dorm because they are cool looking, but I think they were made to be a large nightlight for small children. These are in places like Spencers and other oddity giftstores, also dollar stores.
