Ok, so I was watching Spongebob the other day with my cousin (he's 8), and a strange thought struck me. I felt like after rewatching the show for the first time in years, I began to think that there might be a connection between each character and the 7 deadly sins.

Squidward = Wrath
Gary = Gluttony
Mr. Krabs = Greed
Plankton = Envy
Pearl = Lust
Patrick = Sloth
Larry the lobster = Pride

and Spnogebob is just a neutral character that "adventures" and interact with each "sin" to show the viewers (children) how ridiculous each sin is by exaggerating and satirizing it.

Am I overanalyzing the cartoon?
Gary is gluttony because he eats all the time? He eats the green things, and also snail food. I don't know.

Don't know if that was the writer's intention, but it sounds good. A lot of the characters do seem to be built around a specific trait, and Spongebob is just the good-natured one that tries to keep it moving & live the best way he can.

How do I get a two-year old to listen to me (her step-mom) & Dad?

My husband has a two year old daughter that he gets every other week because he has 50/50 custody. When we get her, she refuses to listen, she throws things, she bites, & she won't listen to him at all. She will listen to me sometimes because I sit her on my lap & talk to her, but she refuses to listen to him. Her Mother doesn't raise her 'cause when his daughter comes over, she does everything for herself. She is very independent for a two-year-old. But she just doesn't listen. At our house she has no noopie, no bottle, & we are trying to potty-train her. But when she goes back to her Mothers, she doesn't work with her. She gives her a noopie, bottle, & she refuses to try & potty-train her. So help?

First off, she might be too young to potty train. I didnât potty train my son until about 3yrs old. They have to be ready, you cant force them or it just wont work.
Does your husband spoil his daughter? I bet he does. He might be afraid that if he doesnât she might not want to come over anymore. Its a tough situation.
Heres my advice. Keep on talking to her (just like you are). Reward her on the things she does well. Try to interact with her with the things she likes to do, like watch spongebob, dora and wiggles. No matter how much you cant stand what she likes, if she sees that you want to enjoy what she likes she might be a little easier to handle. Become friends and go from there. However, you still are a parent so when she does bad let her know why it was bad and give her a time out. You have to give her boundaries, now more than ever. Stand your ground and be strong. You need to draw that line where your friends and also parent and child. She is not the boss and she needs to learn that.

Just looking for some input on what kind of braces I may have to get for my teeth?

Ok so I'm 19 and I've never had braces. I may or may not get them it really depends on the cost, but at this age I would prefer to have braces that aren't noticeable. Such as Invisalign or ceramic. My bottom teeth are pretty much straight. When I close my mouth, I defiantly have an over bite. My two front teeth hang down more so than the rest, and there is some crowding go on with my top teeth but I don't think it's anything too major. What do you think? Personal experiences.

I am someone who at an early age (3rd grade) got braces, then a retainer, and then braces again in 8th grade. I know for a fact that if I had tried to use Invisalign instead of braces, my teeth would look like [enter cuss word here] right now. My top teeth had many gaps (I looked like a human Spongebob), and my bottom teeth were crowded. I also had a severe overbite.

Make an appointment with your local orthodontist to check your teeth out. They will tell you how extreme it is, what you should do, etc. Also keep in mind that different orthodontists have different recommendations. Some will say you will need 4 years of braces, some will say 1-2.

How do you avoid foolishness, wasting time and goofing around when you've got lots of homework to do?

Recently, I watched an episode of Spongebob where in boating school, they were asked to write a 800 word essay. While at school, Spongebob thinks his task is very easy. When he came home, he had this feeling of not doing his homework and then he starts wasting time. Then, he gets nervous. Then, it's 5 mins. till boating classes. He would've been in trouble if Ms. Puff didn't cancel the homework. Have you watched this episode?

My situation is very much alike. It seems that there's this feeling in me that makes me not wanna do my homework so I tend to goof around even though I know there are lots of homework. How do you fight this feeling? It prevents me from becoming responsible. Maybe even though you take away all my entertainment, I'll find other ways to waste time. Help me please. Is this how bad homework and studying gets? I'm a 2nd or 3rd honor student and I get line of 90 grades (sometimes upper 80's like 87 or 88). I'm currently a 2nd year high school student.

shit, you sound exactly like me. I get the same sort of grades as you. I also have that problem. I find that i cant force my self to do it without getting reckless. I find that take a break, in my case from fucknig around on youtube and go play some xbox or something for a while. Then i come back and im in a less frenzied state, and im able to calm down and get down to homework. Then once im into it, nothing can stop me, not even dinner lol.

This is the questions for me!!!! I am a huge spongebob fan so I will try to tell you all I can think of. Start with when the show started (July 17, 1999) and how. The creator Stephen Hillenburg was a marine biologist and started drawing cartoon characters of the creatures that he was working with and that is how Spongebob came about. He lives in a pineapple under the sea, his best friend is Patrick Star and Patrick lives under a rock. Squidward Tentacles lives between them in an Easter Island Head statue. Spongebob works at the Krusty Krab at a fry cook and that seems to be his lifes dream. He loves his job. He works for Eugene Krabs (Mr. Krabs) and Mr. Krabs loves money. Everything that Mr. Krabs does revolves around how much money he can make or how much money he is losing. Mr. Krabs has a daughter, a whale named Pearl. She is a typical high school teenage girl. Spongebob is trying to get his drivers license but has been unsuccessful thus far. His driving school teacher is Mrs. Puff, who isn't really married. Spongebob has a friend named Sandy Cheeks, who is a squirrel from Texas. She is a scientist who lives in a Tree Dome and wears a spacesuit looking thing when she is out in the ocean. Spongebob has a pet snail named Gary, who has cat-like tendencies. Spongebob and Sandy enjoy Karate together and Spongebob and Patrick enjoy jellyfishing together. Spongebob is eternally optimistic and sees the best side of people. There are even times that he befriends Plankton (the "bad guy" of the show). Plankton is always trying to steal the Krabby patty secret formula (which has NEVER been divulged in any episode of the show). There are still new episodes of the show being made. The picture at the beginning of the show that sings is named Painty the Pirate.

The Spongebob first 3 seasons were great.

The old spongebob episodes from 1999-2004 are great. The new Spongebob episodes from 2007-present are not are funny as the earlier episodes from '99.

The Spongebob episodes from '99 were the best. 1999 Spongebob is a masterpiece, not the new episode that we had lately.

Do you agree with me that the old Spongebob episodes are better than the new episodes.

Your kidding me right? Spongebob has always been amazing! I am so sick and tired of hearing and people putting up posts all over the Internet saying the old ones beat the new ones. They didn't, they are both amazing. The show us so funny! What is even wrong with the new ones? I do not get it. I's it the adult humor everyone loves? Yeah know something? It's all over the new ones! Just watch one, and listen to the jokes. They are filled with it. And enjoy, now people will stop makng thoose posts before I reach insanity!!

We have a back up plan of a spongebob cake from the supermarket. But we'd really like to make it ourselves, we were thinking of an erupting volcano cake, but its too complicated!

Please post any ideas, recipes etc!

make a spongebob cake out of a square cake pan with regular yellow cake mix and add a can of crushed pineapples to the mix..........use lemon frosting......it should be pretty easy.
