spongebob nosferatu image
The Legend
In the episode Graveyard Shift, Nosferatu appears at the end flickering a light. Was there any reason for this? I know when I first saw the episode I had no idea who he was until I looked it up so it's not like it was directed towards the fanbase.
Answer
It was probably in there as a culture reference the older watchers would get

I know what Nosferatu is. it was a 1922 German expressionist film about a vampire named Count Orlok and it actually is a pretty interesting movie. It is one of those really old silent movies. Here is a link to the full movie on youtube if you want to take a look at it

So why did the creators of Spongebob put Nosferatu in the episode? I always found it amusing, but why did they put him in there haha

it was actually because they were freaking out about the wrong thing. they were getting scared about the guy but should have been afraid of the vampire just sitting inside of the crust crab
