Im planning a little girls birthday party and i need some ideas.
Shes turning 8, and the theme is spongebob.
Its a very small party with only like 5-6 kids.
I would appreciate any ideas: food, cake, games, and decorations?

Step1
Hold a contest to see who can fill a cup with water first. Give each party guest a sponge and a bucket of water and place the cups across the room. Have them fill the sponge and run to the cup and squeeze the water from the sponge into the cup. The first one to fill the cup wins the contest.
Step2
Set up a craft table and have the kids make an ocean in a bottle. Fill an empty water bottle about 90 percent full and put a few drops of baby oil in it. Then have the kids add blue food coloring and their choice of small seashells, sea creatures and some glitter. Replace the lid on the bottle and hot glue it on to make sure it stays.
Step3
Adapt the classic "Pin the Tail on the Donkey" game and play "Pin the Coconut on the Tree." Cut coconuts out of brown construction paper and have the kids stick it on a picture of a palm tree.
Step4
Hold a "Pop the Bubble" relay by filling clear balloons with air so they look like bubbles. Put them in a basket and line the teams up by the basket with a chair across the room for each team. The first party guest grabs a balloon, runs to the chair and sits on the balloon to pop it. Then runs back and tags the next team member who repeats the steps. The first team to pop all of their "bubbles" wins the game.
Step5
Purchase a cardboard treasure chest from a party store and fill it with all kinds of party favors and hide it. Tell the kids SpongeBob has buried a treasure box and they need to find it. Give them the first of a series of clues and send them on a treasure hunt. Be sure and work the characters like Patrick, Mr. Crabbs and Gary the snail into the clues.
Step6
Fill small five inch balloons with helium and attach pink streamers to them to resemble jellyfish. Give each child a butterfly net and have them chase down the jellyfish and try to catch them. The streamers help weigh the balloons down so they don't fly away. You will need a slight breeze outside to keep the balloons moving. A ceiling fan indoors could do the trick as well.

We are a little strapped for money since I lost my job at the spork factory, and I think she's having them make tampons for her "needs" since they're a little pricey. How do I confront her about this? I'm sure she'll get in trouble and we can't afford her losing her job too.

I'm fairly certain she is using the supplies to assist in the using of illegal drugs. The pipe cleaners are probably being used for cleaning the students glass "bowls". A bowl is what a marijuana smoker uses to inhale his/her sticky icky. Your wife is just being generous. Using a dirty bowl can build up carcinogens and can cause the user to cough and ingest nasty chemicals. She wants their high to be pure as can be.

The cotton balls are to put over their veins after they shoot up the heroine. Im surprised she didn't opt for the spongebob squarepants band-aids. Then they wouldnt have to worry about holding the cotton ball in place. But then again if youre strapped for cash, the cotton balls are much more econimical and she probably just used the schools scotch tape to hold the balls in place.

I like the episode Naughty Nautical Neighbours where Squidward gets Spongebob and Patrick mad at each other but his plan back fires when they both desperately try to be his friend. One of my favourite quotes I can think of is in this episode when Patrick is sitting in Squidward's bath tub and says "Hey buddy I warmed it up for ya" and me and my cousins used to say that when we'd be swimming and jokingly insinuating that we had peed lol.

Mine is Band Geeks; a cartoon doesn't get better that. Funny, heartwarming, and Squid finally gets his day to shine! One of the best episodes in all of film, in my opinion, and I've watched and dealt with film quite a bit in my past. Others of mine are Chocolate with Nuts, Pizza Delivery, and the Camping episode.

Does the movie count? Because if it does, then that is EASILY my favorite. There are so many though...I like Chocolate with Nuts too, I like the Magic Conch, Band Geeks, the one in Sandys' Dome with the snow, the F.U.N.......too many really.

One: It's a 'KIDS' tv show.
Two: Fish/Sea Creatures don't have a large lengthy life usually, but some could live up to 200 to 300 years old!
Three: He acts extremely immature and childish (the good, and kid-like way), so he should be young, but then again, he has a car, house, and I believe his grandma is EXTREMELY old.

Does anyone have any ideas for a novice coin-struction "artist"?

I'm not sure if anyone's ever heard of it, but "Coin-struction" is a set of clips that can be used to connect 2, 3 or even 4 coins to each other to make sculptures. I have done almost everything i found (from the empire state building to a 1/300th scale of the pentagon to the snail in spongebob.) Does anyone have any ideas for a novice artist to create?

What is a good tattoo to do my brother justice?

My brother died a little more then a year ago. I haven't heard from him in 4-5 years and I am still absolutely gutted about his death. I remember him telling me that he loved the Simpsons much more then Spongebob and when he died he still would. I remember him telling me that he would make Kraft Mac and Cheese for me and that'd it be the bomb. I remember him putting his hand on my heart..littlerly in car rides with my head on his left leg. always left. didn't want to make this q and a thing a sob story but what would be a good tattoo idea be to give him justice? i considered a simpsons quote with a simpson drawing and a bubble of the quote....or his initials and his birthday bc i dont want to mourn his death but celebrate his life...or simply his name.first name. plain and simple..but i want to make it special. i plan on only getting one tattoo and this is it. I want to make it special. no matter if it's a mistake, it's a mistake that i won't regret.. don't want to make it seem like i'm feeling bad for myself but this is how i feel. thank you for reading

What do you think of children shows referring to non-Heterosexual relations?

Q. I remember something on Tv.com, the iCarly forums.
There have been quite a few topics for pairings, usually Seddie (Sam/Freddie) and Creddie (Carly/Freddie) but someone decided to make a topic for Cam (Sam/Carly).
I went to the topic because: A. I was curious to how people would react. B. I ship that shipping. It's the only iCarly shipping I ship and half of the reason I watch the show.

Basically all of the topic was a bunch of kids talking about either how "gross" that would be, or how they would never allow it.
They do know this is a technically a teen show that is on a kids network (it's apart of Teen Nick) and is well-known for getting things that wouldn't be allowed on it's rating out, right?

No real conversation though it lasted a good thirteen or so pages.
A similar thing happened on the Kim Possible board.

So I learned..
Tv.com is not a nice place.

Anyway it seems like a lot of people react negativity to the thought. Usually something relating to the children or "So and so aren't gay!".
I see nothing wrong with it. Single parents appear. Adoption appears. Foster homing appears. Romance appears. Lack of romance appears.

I doubt any major network would do that anytime soon though. For one, it's a large step and two it would be a controversial one.
No one wants controversy. Look what happened to Spongebob and he has a crush on Sandy (it's been stated multiple times in different official medias and look at his interactions with her in the early episodes).

A lot of "kids" or family media has same gender romance but it's usually not open.

The author of Wicked (which is an adult book but still) and people of casts for it (mostly Idina and Kristin though) has stated matter about Glinda and Elphaba. Though it's not open in the play. At least not stated.
The Sonic Archie series has Rotor and..Some guy. It's not open and you have to A. Either read the statement where one of the writers or something stated their relationship or B. Look inbetween the lines.
Gargoyles had Lexington.

The western children medias that have non-heterosexual romance, even slightly, is usually not well-known or the story basically revolves around it.

I think it's fine. That would be *awesome,* actually. I think it would help promote acceptance of homosexuality, which *really* needs to be happening right now.

And if the actors really had a problem with exhibiting homosexual behavior, they could just do a casting call to get some gay teenagers. (And that would promote acceptance too, because then we'd have more openly gay celebrities.)

I actually think Dan Schneider intends for us to see some of his Nickelodeon characters as being in relationships. If you look for it, you can definitely see the slash/femslashiness in there. It's *very* obvious.

But of course, you're still gonna have people who think it's "weird" and "gross." It's my hope that someday it will be as unacceptable to say "being gay is gross" as it is to say "being black is gross."

Face paint -- draw spongebob on kids cheeks or arms! You can get some pretty decently priced non-toxic face paint in the makeup section in a place like Party City.

"Pin" the shell onto Gary! Or "Pin" the squarepants on Spongebob! :) -- Print out a picture of Spongebob in his undershorts... (You know there are plenty of these moments!) then print out a second picture of his pants. You can use velcro (buy from Michael's or Jo-Ann's) since pins may be too much... Or even print out the pants onto a sticker sheet. :) The person who gets the pants closest to the target wins!

You could have a color themed goodie bag... Yellow and Black (banana and licorice) salt water taffies, for example... or yellow and black pencils! If you check out Spongebob's main "colors" and stick to that, (rather than worrying about getting the products that have the actual characters on them), this could cut down on price. Instead get spongebob print bags at the 99 cents store or Party City (again, this is a great place, though it can be pricey). The bag will be spongebob but contain the little color coordinated favors. :) These can be prizes!

You can print out spongebob coloring book pictures and have some crayons for a color-free-for-all.

Spongebob cupcakes! He has a simple design so this shouldn't be too hard. You could even provide the icing and have people decorate their own plain cupcakes! :) Either that or a spongebob cake... you can probably get this for cheap at any supermarket (special order ahead of time!) for a decent price.

For the booths, you can easily construct them out of cardboard -- it would just take some time. Long table cloth or even some cardboard draped down in front of a table will help create the illusion of a booth. You can have shelves behind you to give that carnival feel.

Other things I can think of are -- pipe cleaner Planktons (He has an easy design too so you could make him easily I think), Spin Patrick (also added below are tips on how to make your own prize wheel). I hope this helps! :)

My daughter wants to have a spongebob birthday party for her 6th birthday. I think we're going to have a guy in a spongebob costume do the party because she really wants that and there is a really cool spongebob cake at the local grocery store, so those are taken care of, but now I need other party ideas.

We did a pirate party for her 4th birthday and we did a mini treasure hunt with treasure maps and one of the treasures were plastic gold coins buried in the sand box. I think that would fit this theme too so I may do that again, but any other ideas for the party? Either ideas for games or decorations or foods or anything. :-)
Ooh, clarinets would be neat, but I think I might be cursing you by the end of the party! The kids will make sooo much noise with them! :-)

Invitations: cut the shape of a pineapple from yellow cardstock and glue the green crown cut from green cardstock. Write the party details, put inside blue envelopes along with a small amount of sand or sea confetti, seal and mail out, or if possible, hand-deliver inside plastic bottles.
Decor: outside place a sign (use cardboard) saying âBikini Bottomâ with an arrow pointing to the party area. Have lots of blue, green and transparent balloons (to resemble bubbles), hang blue streamers to resemble waves and green streamers to resemble marine algae. Scatter seashells, sea cookies, faux pearls or just sea confetti on the tables. (If you find big seashells, use them as centerpieces). Rent a bubble machine, if possible, it will add a nice effect. If your daughter have sea toys (fish, shark, sea horse...) use them as decor also (or you can diy from construction paper, cardstock, any paper. You can also tape them on the walls). Play SpongeBob soundtrack or episodes of the show (in mute or no) in the background.
Food: make Squidwarms treats - take gum balls with a bit of frosting, then cut twizzlers in 2 or 3 inches and stick ten pieces in each gum ball. Draw little eyes with black or brown icing (or even smaller candies).
serve goldfish crackers inside sand pails, Mr. Krabs patties (hamburgers), mini sandwiches (p&b, cream cheese, deli meat) in the shape of sea creatures (and even SpongeBob) using cookie cutters (do the same thing with the cookies). Seashell-shaped pasta with spinach strips (to simulate marine algae) inside individual bowls. Bake cupcakes with yellow frosting and stick SpongeBob toppers. If you want to give out something different, this one was at my cousin's party: cut sponges into shapes of squares, circles, rectangles, triangles and starfish, added some little bottles of washable paints, a small sketch pad and a paint brush. What PS1 and PS2 games do you want released on PSN?

I know this isn't the norm or intended use of Yahoo! Answers, but I'm interested to see what everyone wants.

For PS2 I would love to have some of the old Simpsons games back, like Road Rage, Skateboarding and Hit and Run. I would love to have the first two DBZ Budokai games, and Sagas. I aslo want a few of the Spongebob games released, like Curse of the Flying Dutchman, Battle for Bikini Bottom and the movie game.

I'm still thinking about what I would want for PS1.

I also have some gameboy games I could give them and I was wondering how much and if I could give those to gamestop as well. I have a spongebob game, pacman, sims pets, sims bustin out, and Herbie fully loaded. Yes I know old games which sucks but I don't use them anymore and I just don't know what to do them. Nick.com has a recipe made up for Krabby Patties even though they aren't hamburgers like shown in the tv show.

In a feature on the DVD release of "Nautical Nonsense and Sponge Buddies", Tom Kenny (the voice of Spongebob) mentioned that there IS a real Krabby Patty recipe, and many fast-food enterpeneurs have tried to ask for it. When the actors who play the characters on the show first signed up, they (quoted by Tom Kenny) "had to sign reams and reams of disclaimers saying that, 'IF the [true] Krabby patty recipe were to ever be revealed to anyone, then... there would be auditions for your character the next day.'"

However, in the November 2004 issue of Nickelodeon Magazine, there was an interview with Stephen Hillenburg where Steve reveals that he doesn't know the Krabby Patty recipe.


Ingredients
---------------
2 tbsp. finely chopped onion

2 tbsp. finely chopped celery

4-6 tbsp. vegetable oil

1 tsp. thyme

1 lb. frozen imitation crabmeat, (defrosted and finely chopped in a food processor)

3/4 cup seasoned bread crumbs

1 tbsp. Dijon mustard

2 tbsp. mayonnaise (plus 1 cup for dipping sauce)

2 eggs, lightly beaten

Salt and pepper (to taste)

3 tbsp. ketchup (for dipping sauce)


Cooking method
-----------------------
Step 1 - Sauté the onions and celery in 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil. Add the thyme, lower the heat, and cook until the onions are translucent.

Step 2 - In a large bowl combine the crabmeat, sautéed onions and celery, bread crumbs, Dijon mustard, mayonnaise, egg, salt and pepper to taste. Stir to combine.
Step 3 - Shape into rounds by using a small ice cream scoop, then gently pat flat.

Step 4 - Heat 3 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a large skillet. Working in batches (2 to 3 crab cakes at a time) place the crab cakes in a skillet and cook until golden brown, about 2 minutes per side. You may need to add more oil for the second and third batches.

Step 5 - Preheat the oven to 400°F. Transfer the crab cakes to the baking pan and bake for 10 minutes. The crab cakes can be kept in a warm oven for approximately 30 minutes, or they may be reheated at serving time. Serve with a kid-friendly dipping sauce. Mix 1 cup of mayonnaise with 3 tablespoons of ketchup. Try eating it with bread.

My older sister makes me feel guilty for wearing makeup and dressing nicely. She says that there is not point in wearing makeup unless I am trying to get a husband and that I look like an idiot. She is also against wearing makeup after you get married (total prude). I only wear a little makeup (mascara, a small amount of brown eyeshadow, and a bit of concealer.) She doesn't get that I just want to look nice and that there is nothing wrong with it. Ugh. What is a stupid thing people try to make you feel guilty about?

Sometimes I like to watch cartoons like Spongebob for the fun of it and my sister always tells me that I should grow up and watch shows people my age watch. I so watch shows people my age watch and there is nothing wrong with watching a cartoon once in a while >.<
