Where are his eyes? Granted, one of my humbugs tried to bite off a tenticle, however, he was not successful in his attempt to attack. "Patrick" (starfish's name") held his own. Patrick looks fine, but the way I understand it, if he dies, he'll look just fine petrified as well. Should Patrick be moving alot?

In order to define what the furry fandom is all about, one must first define the word Anthropomorphic.

The word âanthropomorphicâ (literally âhuman-shapedâ) refers to animals or objects given human characteristics. Anthropomorphic animals include everything from the gods of ancient Egypt with their dog, cat, and crocodile heads, to the tool-using characters of the Sonic the Hedgehog video games, to the talking sea creatures of the SpongeBob Squarepants television series.

Anthropomorphic animals have been used to tell stories for centuries.
Only within the last two decades has an enthusiasm for anthropomorphic animals, or more commonly âFurryâ fandom, coalesced into its own distinct entity. Fans are found in all corners of the world, and come from all races, ages, and creeds. We are bound together across the most daunting barriers by our mutual admiration for these creatures of myth and legend who, by simple reflection, grant us a better window into understanding our own natures.

A large number of Furry fans are employed in the scientific or technical fields. A significant percentage have college diplomas and many hold additional or advanced degrees. This perhaps is what leads many casual observers to raise an eyebrow. âWhy would someone like this be interested in cartoon animals? Isnât that unusual?â If we look at the world around us, we will see that anthropomorphized animals are an integral part of our culture. We use them to represent our political parties, our insurance companies, and even our sports teams.

We talk to our dogs (and sometimes even imagine that they talk back [in their own way of course]). We put a âtigerâ in our tank. We cheer for mascots at our favorite sporting events. A casual observer may simply be unaware that it is only in the last forty years that cartoons and cartoon animals have been relegated to the world of children. Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, and their ilk were once primarily targeted to an adult audience, their productions filled with innuendo and biting political satire. Furry fans today simply have not forgotten those roots. The average Furry fan is cast from the same mold as the science-fiction or sword-and-sorcery fan; all of us imagine strange and thrilling worlds and try to picture ourselves living in those worlds.

Today, Furry fandom is a distinct artistic and literary genre that is enjoyed by tens of thousands worldwide. We count among our ranks professional sports mascots, animators, cartoonists, puppeteers, artists, illustrators, and writers, as well as those who think that it would be a wonderful thing if animals could walk or talk like we do.

There are all different kinds of people who are active in the fandom, because Furs tend to be very nice, open, and accepting people, and this has also lead to a large number of social misfits (good and bad) looking for a place to fit in. The percent of homosexual persons in the fandom is around 36%, a number a lot higher then in the general population. Some furs have a particular paraphelia known as Transformation Fetish, where one is sexually triggered by the thought of changing one's body or becoming a different type of body, generally a product of low self esteem, although there are other causes. However, contrary to popular belief, the majority of furs do NOT participate in sexual activity within the fandom (known as Yiff) and some even greatly dislike the idea of yiff because of the bad rep it brings with it.

How is my guide on how Autistic people or Aspies can improve their social and facial expression quotient?

I'm planning on becoming a Psychologist for higher functioning Autistics, and I want to see what you Autistic folks think of my guide.

Have you ever wanted a job that requires heavy social interactions and for you to understand people, but you simply find yourself having mild to severe difficulties? While mild/moderate/high functioning Autism or Asperger's Syndrome are technically automatic disqualifiers for a job like this, there are ways around it.

1. Therapy-This is the obvious one. There are professionals who can boost your quotient with time and patience and test you on it when you need to be tested on it. This may not be for everyday, but it could improve.
Are you unable to afford therapy or has it failed you? Don't worry, there are many other effective routes!
2. Television comedies, drama's (or any genre rather)-Whoever says that this will always lower ones social quotient has no idea with what they are talking about! You may not be interacting with anything, but you can interpret peoples social interactions, feelings, facial expressions and the differences between right and wrong if you have issues with that. It can even improve your ability to understand sarcasm, idioms and jokes. People have done it off of Spongebob Squarepants believe it or not, and even though it's not immediate, you will improve through doing this!
3. Online video games-This will improve social interactions with people in milder to moderate cases, and you can learn what's socially inappropriate this way. This is definitely not for low functioning non-verbal cases, but it's shown to be effective for people with Asperger's Syndrome. It may not improve yours facial expression quotient, but it can teach you how to speak appropriately. Voice chat can help you learn how to adjust your volume and voice and to tell peoples tones.
4. Take online facial expression quizzes to see how you do-These may not be 100% accurate, but they can only help. They will at least give you a general understanding of how you are with reading them, even if they are multiple choice. Take them a number of times if you need to so you can learn what the facial expressions look like. Memorizing helps as well
5. Take what people say about you into consideration to understand your weaknesses-Are people telling you that you're acting inappropriately or that you're often unaware of what people are feeling? There's obviously something going on if more than one person is saying that, and try to work on those areas. Telling weaknesses may not be be easiest thing for an Autistic person, but High Functioning ones can learn to tell their weaknesses.
6. Observe other people-Neurotypicals may have social difficulties as well, but some are decent models. See what they do in a social situation and see what the outcome is. If the outcome is positive, then you know that it's more than likely to be the 'right way'. If the outcome is negative, then at least you can X one solution off of your list (this depends on the people that it happens to). Also try to look at why it happened (use problem solving skills).
7. Become friends with other Aspie's or Autistic people-If there aren't any in your area, then look for other disabilities since they are less likely to be judgemental, and you can learn from them if you do it right. People with Schizophrenia, Personality Disorder, Tourette's Syndrome, Bipolar Disorder, Cerebral Palsy, Intellectual Disability, Clinical Depression, speech impediments and with Down's Syndrome are also known to have social issues as well.
8. Chat on forums-Observe other people (who aren't trolls) and practice chatting with them.
9. Watch movies-See the television shows description above.
10. Try getting a job and treat it as a 'social learning experience'.

This guide is only for the higher functioning Autistics who have a mild form of it (with no verbal delay), and it's also for the milder-moderate Aspie's. What do you Autistics think of it?
11. For communication skills-Play Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Games that would require communication. There's no rush in learning, and this is what I call a 'practice group activity' that would brush up on your communication quotient.
12. Try helping people with more severe Autism out-This is surprisingly a good method for people with mild to moderate Asperger's Syndrome since there won't be anybody judging, and you can learn what people are feeling the hard way. You may not understand right away though.
13. Watch children shows-Some are designed to teach facial expressions and social skills. Plus, they would be a good place for Aspie's who are clueless socially to start since they are easy to follow.
14. Play sports since they are perfect to learn communication and team work skills if you don't have a ball hog on your team.
15. Find friends with similar interests and practice socializing with them and try to interpret their social interactions.
16. Watch YouTube videos if you can't afford a television. Some of them are perfect for learning how to express yourself, to read people and what not to do (you can learn how to interpret a tone as well). If you have to watch child videos on YouTube, then don't be embarassed since you're using it for educational experiences. We all watched them at one point.
17. Try interpreting your own feelings (if you can, and don't be humiliated if you can't since everybody can struggle with it) since it can actually help you understand other peoples feelings. Try modeling the facial expressions with a guide on Google images if you need to and it can help you out a ton with learning other facial expressions. How could you figure out other peoples facial expressions if you have trouble figuring out your own (don't be humiliated if you have issues with it).
18. Write essays-This actually helps you understand your own emotions better, and you can put them up on forums for people to look at your work of art.

To be honest, people stereotype me as a "hipster"(sotaa like you :3) . I disagree with that because I just do what I love and stuff. But I can see why they think this way because of how I act/dress
Here's what I'm talking about:
Clothes: Anything that's comfy and cute really. I like loose shirts, stripes, plaid, and skinny and worn out jeans. I usually wear vans and converse and flip flops
Music: Rock is where it's at. Fav band is The Beatles hands down. I like mostly 60-90 s junk. I like alternative, Indie, hard-punk, and sometimes psychedelic rock. A little country too :p
Hobbie : well I do art too. I love art. And I'm into music a lot tooo. I do some sports likely karate and tennis and soccer. And movies!
Bonus!: I love the Beatles, Harry Potter books & movies , Pokemon, God, Adventure time, reading, movies, animals (I'm a vegetarian ) and family! ! Oh and old spongebob episodes!
So, yea. That's it.
Was this too much? I don't care really at least it killed some time :p

1. Start the game. Knock on the door and choose your dog.
2. Teach the dog a name such as Shakes, Taylor, Lucky, Lilian, Max, or Morgan and say it in the same way each time.(Note: Name must be 7 letters or less)
3. Feed your dog, wash it, and give it water.
4. Teach the dog as many tricks as possible.
5. Go to an obedience trial.
6. Give your dog a walk and take it to the gym.
7. Practice for a while, until your dog knows how to do each thing.
8. Enter it in an agility trial.
9. Then go to the park with a disk and practice.
10. When you get home enter it in a disk competition.
11. Go on Bark Mode (another Nindendo Ds and Nintendogs required)
12. Buy stuff.
13. Wash your dog, feed your dog, give your dog more water.
14. Finish the game. When you have, it's time for 'freeplay', where you can do whatever you want. Have fun and boast about your success.

* Give your dog love and affection each day.
* Some dogs do certain things and some don't, don't push it past the limit.
* Love your dogs like real dogs, it was made to teach children responsibility.
* When calling your dog, always say it in the same tone, you don't have to name it something simple, it's just easier with an easy name.
* Pick up after them.
* There really is no "beating" the game, just more time. You still have to take care of your dog.

* Don't become totally obsessed with the game.
* Don't do cheats very often or you won't really find the point of the game.
* Never go to an agility trial without training that day - most dogs will forget things.

I have Animal Crossing: Wild World, and it is brilliant! You basically have your own little character, and you move to your town. You have your house, and can decorate it, put furniture in it, and pay your mortgage to make it bigger. You can chat to your animal-friends, give them presents, write them letters, give them medicine when they are ill, and make sure that they don't move away by being friendly towards them. You can also go to the town hall put bells(bells is the currency on animal crossing) in the bank, and check the environment. You can do gardening outside, plant flowers, trees, fruit trees, money trees, and get rid of weeds , go to the town mayor to check if there are any events, and go to to the museum and have a cuppa!The list of fun things to do is endless! Animal Crossing : Wild World is a fun, laid back and happy game. This game is never ending, and there is no fighting, or shooting at all. It also has little celebrations like Old years night where they have fire works, and they even celebrate your Birthday where the animals give you presents, and even a Birthday Cake!!!!! I love this game and would recommend it to all girls aged 3 to 10,003!
