I would say spongebob can be looked at as a kid cartoon because its on nick. But when you watch some of those other retarded shows on nick spongebob would appeal most to the adult audience. They do have some jokes that only adults would get. And I would say spongebob has to be over 18 if he's working and living by himself. it would be boring to kids to we him so mature. So they have to make him this unmature dude.

I head that if you change a few lines here and there spongebob can be an adult cartoon .Like were are they getting this from what are so example beside the sailor mouth episode, which I agree was a little inappropriate, but want else is there to go off of. If it could be consider a adult cartoon was it suppose to be like an inside joke or did they not realize it until later.
