SW1

Both hours of WWE Raw beat all NBA playoff games last week. An episode of Spongebob and Masked men were ahead of some games too. Spurs will have it handed to them again. They've already been in the 2 lowest watched Finals in history, in '03 and '05. This year could be the lowest. With all that's going on in the NBA, how long before ratings are lower than the WNBA??? Take a look at a few statistics....

Ratings for Regular Season Network games.........

Net. Year Rating
NBC 1996 5.0
NBC 1997 4.7
NBC 1998 4.6
NBC 1999 4.3
NBC 2000 3.3
NBC 2001 3.0
NBC 2002 -
ABC 2003 2.6
ABC 2004 2.4
ABC 2005 2.2
ABC 2006 2.2

NBA All Star game ratings.....

NBC 1996 11.7/20
NBC 1997 11.2/19
NBC 1998 10.6/17
NBC 1999 -Lockout
NBC 2000 6.9/12
NBC 2001 5.1/8
NBC 2002 8.2/15
TNT 2003 6.6/12
TNT 2004 5.1/10
TNT 2005 4.9/8
TNT 2006 4.3/8
TNT 2007 4.2/

WAY TO GO DAVID STERN!!!!!!!!!!!!
WES, I know the WWE is not a sport and I didn't say it was. It still beat the NBA when they don't benefit from all the media coverage and being on sportscenter and the all the sports web sites/newspapers/magazines, etc.
Nick, I know that. I'm just being a smart alleck.
WHAT IS NOT SHOCKING ME FOR SOME REASON, IS THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE WHO THINK I'M ASKING THIS QUESTION SERIOUSLY. IT'S A JOKE BECAUSE THE NBA'S RATINGS ARE GOING DOWN!!!!
Kelly, THE WWE AND SPONGEBOB BEAT THE NBA PLAYOFFS IN RATINGS. IT IS A FACT!!!!!!!

Answer

Any game and party ideas for 10 7 year old boys (indoors or outdoors)?

Quintin

My son will be having his 7th bday party with 9 other boys. I am looking for ideas for what to do for 3 hours with 10 boys! If it is nice, we can be outside, but need to plan for inside ideas too. Help!

Answer
I can't say this is my original idea, but for my nephew's birthday, a friend of the family organized a party around SpongeBob Squarepants. They invited the adult family members to the party and put us to work at various stations (and named us various silly names related to the characters on the show). Each station had an activity that the child was to complete. Each child had a clipboard, pencil, and sheets corresponding to each station. For example, one station was a word search with words related to the ocean. Another station was a crossword puzzle with characters from SpongeBob. Another station had paper bags with things in them (e.g., sand, peeled grapes, a woozy ball) and the kids had to guess the contents without looking. Another was a jelly belly tasting station where they had to guess the flavors. Maybe a listening station where they have to identify different sounds (running water, bird calls, wind blowing). Things like that. For each item they got right at a station, they were given a coin. After a set amount of time (or when everyone finished all the stations, whichever came first) then the kids could go shopping with their coins in an underwater store. The store was stocked with cheap toys, magic tricks, and that sort of thing. The main room was decorated with helium balloons in the greens/blues hues with long ribbons of the same color spectrum hanging down and cut outs of fish, starfish, etc. attached to some of them. It felt like walking through a kelp garden. Then there was cake, ice cream and presents. It kept the kids busy for a long time - they almost didn't want to stop for cake and ice cream!

There are some websites that will generate the various word games for you (no need to draw your own crossword puzzle!). The only thing is it helps if all the kids are close in academic ability or the adults can help a little so that there isn't one kid who is left behind because of he isn't as strong academically.

Here are some websites I found:

http://teachers.teach-nology.com/web_tools/work_sheets/ (scroll all the way to the bottom for the free stuff!)

http://puzzles.about.com/od/puzzlesoftware/Puzzle_Making_Software_Crosswords_Word_Search_Generators.htm
(lists a whole bunch of puzzle generating websites, some free, some not)

It takes some (a lot) of work to organize, but I'd never seen that many young boys focused and having fun for that long!
