Spongebob has changed too much!?

Loading...

I really wish that Spongebob was made like it was when it first came out.
Spongebob's humor has changed, it used to be well thought out. Now it is spazzy and annoying.
Spongebob colors have changed, they used to be slightly paler and had more of a nautical feel.
The voices have changed.
The episodes are not as funny or well made!

Do you remember these old episodes? From the early 2000s?
Rock Bottom
SB-129
Reef Blower
Help Wanted
Pizza Delivery
Nature Pants
F.U.N
Jellyfish Jam

These were the classics!!!! Spongebob isn't like what it used to be.

What is your take on the newer Spongebob episodes?

Answer
Stephen Hillenburg left as Director in 2005 after finishing the spongebob sqaurepants movie, and sadly all of his witty humour and epic plots went with him. Production staff are too afraid to hang up the franchise because it makes too much money, they keep renewing the seasons and unfortunately rush the episodes, meaning crappy jokes and outlandish plots. that's kinda the reason i stopped watching it. Well that and because my gf doesn't like me watching because she thinks i am too old for it (17). The truth is, you're never too old for spongebob, and i wish they put more time into the episodes and brought back all the laughable gaffs that made spongebob hilarious.

The reason the animation style has changed is because the production staff have moved away from traditional cel animation and resorted to digital animation, which sadly is because it is cheaper and more efficient which means they can make episodes more quickly, which again, is because of the demanding curfew from the broadcaster. the digi animation has resulted in more vibrant colors, perfectly symmetrical character models, smoother animation and has allowed HD widescreen.

Its not just the show itself though, the take on children's TV has changed so much over the years, many broadcasters have reverted to educational programming and the likes and mannerisms of many cartoon characters have been altered and morphed to suit today's standards

i could go on forever, spongebob is not what it used to be. this is the case with other shows like the simpsons, they are struggling to keep a dead horse alive, and despite this, still manage to produced heart warming episodes. it just goes to show that things can last if wanted enough, and i wish the writing staff of spongebob would understand this.

The episodes you listed there are some of my favourites too, which proves a point, the old episodes were the best, if you ask me, the first 4 seasons were their golden age.

Which episode of spongebob is this?

What's the name of the episode where squidward is stuck in time, and he's all alone?

Answer
The name of the episode is "SB-129". Season 1 episode 14.

Squidward wants to get away from SpongeBob and Patrick, so he gets inside of The Krusty Krab's freezer, but he unwittingly ends up getting trapped in there. 2,000 years later, a robotic descendant of SpongeBob, named SpongeTron, frees Squidward from his icy prison. SpongeTron greets him and tells him that he's in "the future". Squidward expresses his desire to return to the past, so SpongeTron sends him to a time machine. Squidward goes to prehistoric times and meets the apparent ancestors of SpongeBob and Patrick. He makes them jellyfishing nets and shows them how to use them, thus (unwittingly) inventing the sport of jellyfishing. But when he plays his clarinet, he angers the two, and they chase him. He hurriedly returns to the time machine and accidentally breaks it, thus sending him to a dimensionless place. He is at first glad to be alone at last, but soon he becomes homesick, lonely, and worried. In frustration, he breaks through whatever is beneath him, landing him into the time machine. He states his desire to return to his home and meet SpongeBob and Patrick again. All of a sudden, his wish is granted; Squidward returns to his own time. Squidward tells SpongeBob and Patrick about his trips through time and space, and how glad he is to see them. SpongeBob and Patrick ask him if he wants to go jellyfishing, but he refuses. Squidward asks who invented jellyfishing, and the two reply by saying that he did. Squidward becomes very frustrated realizing that he interfered in the time and says he's going back.
