spongebob normal image
Questioner
It's starting to get cold where I live, so at the department store I bought a sweater. The problem is, I bought it on the clearance rack, so I'm guessing it was a leftover from last winter. I fear it might be too soon into the colder months to get away with something so obviously winter-y. It's not super bulky or strange or anything like that; it's just a normal striped sweater that has a large collar (turtle neck, I believe it's called). Do you think the style is too much too soon?
Answer
LOL, Okay, so when I read this question, I thought you were talking about SpongeBob.. Okay xD
Anyways! I think it should be fine ! As long as the large collar thing doesn't look to extreme as in you're preparing to move to Antarctica than you'll look fine(: Save the bulky sweaters for later during the winter!

How come sexual themes are more common in anime than in western cartoons?
Brian Libu
Is it because people who make western cartoons think that cartoons were solely meant for kids or is it that the people that make anime are perverted? I know there are western cartoons like Family Guy and South Park that have these themes, but thats nothing compared to the vast amount of ecchi and hentai anime (To Love Ru, Shuffle!, Love Hina, and School Days to name a few), and even normal anime have some sexual themes in them!
Answer
Allie's answer is ridiculous. I don't exactly know how prostitutes have anything to do with animation... does that mean that prostitution in the states is a direct correlation in why I watch Spongebob in the morning? Does that secretly mean I want to be a prostitute? Is Nickelodeon secretly trying to corrupt our youth? Do you see how ridiculous such a silly statement can get?
The answer is simple... animation does not mean the same here as it does in Japan. While both countries do share the general view that anime/cartoons are for kids, there's still a huge fanbase in Japan--a fanbase that is mostly filled with teenagers and young adults, which is completely different from the cartoon fans of America, which consist mainly of children. Whether we're speaking of reality television or animation, sex sells... we have television shows, music videos, and movies to express this and Japan has their animation, which is the safest way of selling sex in a country where the Japanese government enforces their code of morales whenever they have nothing better to do.
