I was just wondering...what real world circumstances would it take to keep spongebobs pineapple from rotting? A long, deeply scientific answer would be much appreciated. Thank you

It doesnt even have to be right...if it sounds sciencey, that works, just make it good!

Good luck, use your degree...or imagination, haha

Good question. The Spongebob universe provides a never-ending series of contradictions and paradoxes that beggar explanation. For example, I could speculate that the underwater environment retards the oxidation of the pineapple due to the reduced oxygen concentration; however, there is clearly enough oxygen to support a diverse array of life, and even for fires to burn (!!!) so that doesn't seem like the appropriate answer.

Then I considered the possibility that the saltwater had killed any of the bacteria which might have set to work devouring the pineapple and causing it to rot, but if that were the case why hasn't the salt destroyed the pineapple itself? Pineapples don't live in marine environments and I could be wrong, but I suspect that ocean water is hypertonic compared to the flesh of a pineapple. The pineapple should have shriveled as its water was leeched out to balance the concentration of salt inside and outside its cells.

The only solution I can think of is that Spongebob must have coated his house, inside and out, with some kind of water-tight sealant prior to bringing it down to the ocean floor. That would prevent the oxygen from fueling its decomposition, and it would prevent the saltwater from shriveling it up. Now where Spongebob was able to buy a sealant powerful enough to protect his house after years on the ocean floor, I cannot say. But then again, I also cannot say why a sponge needs a house to begin with.

I hope that helps. Good luck!

What are some good Tumblr blogs that allow you to submit photos, to gain more followers?

Tips to getting more followers-
Post lots, don't go too long without posting something or your followers will lose interest.
Post interesting stuff, people don't want to see pictures of your cat or what you are wearing that day, it just isn't interesting.
Make posts that vary, like don't always post pictures, and don't always make text posts. That gets boring.
Advertise like you are on here.
Like and reblog people's pictures so your name gets out there more.
Reply to people's questions.
Ask people questions, like.. in their ask box. or just tell them you love their blog and stuff.
Tag your stuff, so when people search your posts come up.
And some people just follow back when you follow them.

What do people like on tumblr:

Harry Potter
memes.
Universe pictures.
Mean Girls quotes or pictures.
Mustaches.
Pictures of water.
Pokemon.
UNICORNS.
Wolves.
Quotes!!!
Anything funny.
Spongebob

Basically anything. But those are the main ones I can think of right now.

  1. One might be tempted to assume that a plastic decorative pineapple somehow fell into the ocean and drifted down to Bikini Bottom, giving Spongebob his unusual home... however, this is disproven in the episode where Spongebob's house is consumed by nematodes then regrown from a seed and a love filled tear.
You will notice in this episode the pineapple house grown back to full size at an exceptional speed and already fully furnished. Clearly, this is no ordinary strain of pineapple.

Bikini Bottom is believed, by some, to be in the ocean near Bikini Atoll. Bikini Atoll was at one time a nuclear bomb testing site. Parts of Bikini Atoll may actually be more radioactive today than Chernobyl. Perhaps, the reason for the pineapple house's insolubility and quick/fully furnished growth are a product of mutation from the radiation. This could also explain the other unusual aspect of Bikini Bottom, such as self aware see life. This would also give reason for Sandy the scientific squirrel, to move there as an opportunity to do research on the aquatic plants and animals that live there. How did Sandy acquire her sentience and scientific nature? Perhaps, she too was the product of the sciences gone astray. Maybe she was a test subject for the same kind of scientists that detonated the bombs in Bikini Atoll. After gaining her self awareness, she perhaps was influenced by her scientific surroundings and was inspired to employ the sciences for good after escaping or being released from the lab. I'd bet she had to escape though, because why would evil scientists knowingly release such a smart squirrel.
This radioactive theory could also explain the oddities seen in rock bottom. However, Rock Bottom appears to be at the bottom of trench and as you can see from many scientific books and shows deep sea dwelling creature are frankly strange and posses bioluminescent naturally. Perhaps the inhabitants of rock bottom are really the normal ones. The speech and language barrier between Rock Bottom inhabitants and Bikini Bottom inhabitants could be because the radioactive Bikini Bottomers developed a more sophisticated form of speech and the Rock Bottom inhabitants are still using the 'primitive' natural fish language. However, if you ask me Rock Bottom speech seems more sophisticated to me, as it has more subtle nuances. Insert fart noise here.

The real question to me is, why is the ocean sky filled with flower clouds?
