First act discovery Ukulele?

Mad as a H

I want to buy that Ukulele

http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3102999

Because it is cheap and has decent reviews. It should work because the age is 14 and up. But I need to know what it sounds like. Do you know where to find a video of it? Do not just tell me to look it up

Also, if you have this, what is your opinion?

Answer
I've had the opportunity to mess around with one of these in-store. I didn't like it much. The "strings", if I can even call them that, feel like fishing line and seem extremely fragile, but it could have just been the uke that I had.

I found a video on YouTube. Even though the man in the video has a Spongebob 'ukulele, they are essentially the same thing (same manufacturer). The only change he made was a makeshift bridge:

Remember, this 'ukulele is meant as a toy. My advice would be to consider upgrading once/if you became serious about the 'ukulele. If you don't want to spend too much money, I recommend checking out Kala's Makala Dolphin (link below [don't mind the MSRP, they are usually sold for less depending on where you buy]) or a Mahalo (also below). Mahalos aren't too popular among 'ukulele players, but can be a playable instrument with minor adjustments (string change, etc.).

Hope this helps.
Take care and happy strumming~!

What are the lyrics for Spongebobs fun song?

What is the connection between the show Spongebob Squarepants and Hawaii?

Seb

I've noticed alot of production music for the show is named after Hawaii and alot of episode themes are also connected with hawaiian culture??

Answer
IDK, the animators must have thought that tropical sounding music would help drive the point that this cartoon takes place under the sea, possibly somewhere warm and tropical.

With the exception of a few episodes, like the one where Squidward is treated to somewhat of a vacation with tiki heads in the background, the only thing that is culturally Hawaiian in the show are the music instruments, the steel guitar and the ukulele.

Wht is the song called at the end of all spongebob episode parings?

Gino

When the credits are going up and there is that song playing, it's just a Ukulele, and behind the credits there is that orange/red flower on the yellow background... What is that song called? Usually the only time they play the song is in DVDs of episodes and Netflix episodes.

Answer
I searched it up and all I could find was that it was made by the band "blue hawaiin" if you'd thinking of downloading the song just type "spongebob squatspants closing theme song"

Spongebob Ukulele - PLEASE HELP?

..

I purchased a spongebob ukulele. I am 17 and mainly got it because it looked so cute. However now I want to learn how to play it, but it doesn't sound right. I have tried tuning it in with a pitch pipe that comes with it.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YK6PehXjKLc&feature=related

there is a video of someone playing the exact same ukulele as I have (copy and paste into url)

The strings are like plasticy, are they meant to be like that?

If i got new metal type strings would it make the product better quality?

If I went to a music shop and asked them to tune my ukulele would they charge me?

Thankyou everyone for any answers x

Answer
Your strings are fine. Ukuleles use classical guitar strings, which are nylon.
Tuning it by ear usually yields a better sound. Go to a piano, and tune the strings G, C, E, A. G being closest to your face, and A being closest to your leg.
Pitch pipes suck and are almost never accurate.

Answer
You could try Tiny Tim. My fave is "Living in the Sunlight" that played on Spongebob's first episode...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c71RCAyLS1M

Another popular one is "Tiptoe Through The Tulips"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=skU-jBFzXl0

I actually met him a long time ago. He played at the circus when I was a kid and I got to shake hands with him. Pretty awesome.

Who sings the song similar to the the fun song on spongebob?

Nome

he is a guy who playes the ukulele and sings in a realy high pitched voice and the song sounds just like the fun song on spongebob.

Answer
You're probably talking about Tiny Tim, the song is "Living in the sunlight, loving in the moonlight" That song is on the very first SpongeBob episode.
Here's a vid of him singing that song, it does sound a little like like F.U.N. now that you mention it:

Hope that helps =D
