The enitre "SpongeBob is gay" comes from a misunderstanding from Rev Dobson (the force behind the conservative 'Focus on the Family')
Nile Rodgers, who wrote 'We Are Family", was producing it to let people know that gay and lesbians are part of our family as well. To get this point acrosso, he used animate characters, which included Dora the explorer, Arthur and SpongeBob.
The reverend was upset that these popular characters were being used to make being gay or lesbian "OK".
His statement was "Spongebob is promoting a gay agenda."
The media glommed onto this to have the reverend saying SpongeBob is gay.
I was able to use this to make up a comedy routine that not only was SpongeBob gay, but that animation is a vertable hotbed of sexual deviancy and seething lust

Spongebob is not gay. He's just your average ocean dweller with a mindset of a youngster. Hyperactive and overeager are the traits describing him. But there are some parts where he can show his serious side like karate with sandy, flipping krabby patties and other stuff, in a funny way actually LOL.
