He and Patrick are gay. Check the episode where they adopt a jellyfish and end up living together and arguing like an old married couple. Plus Spongebob dressed like a woman during that episode and complained about being left home to do housework, raise the kids, they slept in the same bed, etc. Not really a show for kids.

I don't want to ask about anything perverted? I wanted to know if you had heard anything on spongebob like dry humor that kids would not even get. For example when Patrick says "the inner mechanisms of my mind is an enigma" things that are funny in a way you almost don't notice? Thanks!

Probably the most adult thing I've noticed on Spongebob is when the Flying Dutchman is hitting on the chick at the party at Spongebob's house in "Ghost Host". She asks him "Is that a wedding ring?" and he quickly says "Oh, that's nothing!"
As far as dry humor, one that comes to mind is when Sponge is training Gary for the Snail Race. He's dressed up as a coach, complete with coach-like mustache, and he says "Let's move it ladies.. I called you a lady to humiliate and demean you. It's a motivational tool we coaches use."
