Who else thinks New episodes of Spongebob have changed?

Benjamin

I grew up watching Spongebob, and my brother and parents would pick up on some of the humor. I used to laugh at the episodes but now I can't. In the new episodes it seems like something for Nick Jr. Spongebob cries for pointless reasons and hugs Patrick way too much. They don't even have any jokes or humor of any kind, and it seems like they sing or say "WAAAAHHHHHHHHH" or "AAAHHHHHHHH" in every single episode. If anybody thinks this way, can you please tell me what the hell happened?

Answer
Stephen Hillenburg, the creator of the show, basically left the show in charge of another person who worked on the show, Paul Tibbit. This occurred with the new season right after the movie. Since then, the show became what it is now.

From the Spongebob Squarepants Wikipedia page, in the movie section:
"The show's continued success eventually led to the creation of a feature film called The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie, which was intended to be the end of the series. However, shortly after the film's release, Nickelodeon renewed the series for a fourth season. Also following the film's release, Stephen Hillenburg resigned as show runner, causing a shift in the series' production crew, as well as several of the series' writers. Following the end of the Hillenburg era, the animation style changed to 3D computer animation (although it would still use digital ink and paint)."

Basically, people in charge and the writers of the show changed when the show got more seasons after the movie, so the show changed as well as the characters. That's what happened.
